Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I need a referral to become a patient with Vital Life Wellness?
No, a referral is not required to become a patient at Vital Life Wellness.
How do I schedule a consultation or appointment?

To schedule an appointment, please call our office at (210) 595-1019. If you cannot reach us and you are an established patient, you can send a message through the patient portal, and a team member will contact you to help schedule your appointment. For this matter or any other inquiries, you can also reach us by emailing [email protected].

Does Vital Life Wellness accept insurance, or is it a cash-based clinic?

Vital Life Wellness Center (VLWC) accepts insurance for most primary care services and select lab tests. For a complete list of accepted health insurance plans, we invite you to visit our Contact Us page. Please note that some services, particularly cosmetic treatments, are typically not covered by insurance. VLWC accepts most major credit cards, including Mastercard, VISA, Discover, and AMEX, as well as cash. However, we do not accept checks. For pricing and payment inquiries, please contact our office directly at (210) 595-1019 or by emailing us at [email protected].

Can I use my HSA or FSA to cover services?
Yes, you can use your HSA/FSA to pay for services at Vital Life Wellness. We also recommend obtaining an itemized receipt at the time of service in case your HSA/FSA provider requests it.
Do you offer specialty labs?

Yes, Vital Life Wellness offers specialty lab testing. While we commonly order standard panels through Quest Diagnostics, our providers may recommend additional lab tests based on your unique needs. For more comprehensive insights, we partner with trusted specialty labs, such as Genova Diagnostics, Mosaic Diagnostics, and ZRT Laboratory, to uncover the root cause of your health concerns if standard testing yields no abnormal results.

Are specialty lab tests covered by insurance?

Some labs will bill your insurance on your behalf, with an initial payment paid to the lab; however, most lab companies do not work with insurance.

How long does it typically take to receive test results from specialty labs?
Our clinics typically receive lab results within two to three weeks.
Does Vital Life Wellness offer virtual appointments?

You can utilize telehealth services as long as you are not a new patient and have had an in-clinic visit at least once within the year. Additionally, you must reside in Texas. Please note that individual providers may have their own specific rules regarding what is applicable for telehealth compared to in-person visits.

What is your policy on cancellations and no-shows?
To avoid the $35 no-show fee, please provide a 24-hour notice to cancel your appointment.
Can I combine multiple services in one visit?
Most cash-based services, like getting dermal fillers, can be added to an appointment for an additional fee. For example, a patient can come in for a follow-up visit and also request a HRT pellet insertion or a weight loss consultation. However, some services require a separate appointment. If time allows, we will make an effort to schedule these appointments back-to-back.
What can I expect during my first consultation at Vital Life Wellness?

The medical provider will evaluate the patient’s suitability for treatment and develop a personalized treatment plan. We encourage patients to come prepared with any questions they may have regarding their medical condition and concerns. Please be aware that certain consultations, such as weight loss consultations, require patients to first be established with Vital Life Wellness Center.

Do consultations require a deposit? If so, how is it applied?
Yes, most consultations will require a deposit. If a patient chooses to proceed with the proposed treatments on the same day, their deposit will be deducted from the total cost.
